Who do I refer?
A family member, neighbor, friend, previous client – anyone you know that is interested in buying or selling property! It can be in Georgia, or anywhere around the country!
How do I make the referral?
Simply call an agent you know and ask them if they would like to work with your referral. If you don’t know an agent in the area, we can help you find an agent or give you a list of questions to ask the agent. After all, if you are making the referral you want to make sure the agent has a great track record! Once you’ve decided on the agent you want to use, send them the Referral Agreement. That’s all there is!
How much will I make?
On an average $300,000 transaction, the referral check you receive will be about $2100!
What is the commission split on the referral?
95/5 split – the highest in the industry! You keep 95% of the referral fee and Agent to Agent Referral Realty keeps 5% to cover the administrative costs. On a $350,000 sale, the referral commission is typically $2625 (25% referral received from the referred agent). You will receive $2494 (95%).
How long does it take to receive my referral commission after closing?
You will receive your referral commission within 5 days of Agent to Agent Referral Realty receiving the funds from the referring company.
Do I still need continuing education classes?
Yes, you will still need to have the required number of credits necessary to maintain your license with the Georgia Real Estate Commission.
What are the advantages of “parking” my license vs. going inactive with the RE Commission?
When you are ‘inactive’ with the GA Real Estate Commission, you cannot participate in any real estate transactions (other than your own), nor can you receive any commissions. ‘Parking’ your license enables you to earn income in the real estate industry while not actively pursuing it as a full time career. Whether you have decided to retire, pursue another career opportunity, or just take a break until the market improves, parking you license gives you the flexibility you need – without the high monthly costs of maintaining it with a traditional company.
What is the cost of hanging my license with Agent to Agent Referral Realty?
$95 a year. Period. No hidden costs.
Will I have access to the GA MLS or FMLS?
No. A part of the fees that traditional companies charge may include fees that are passed on from the multiple listing services. As a ‘referral only’ company, Agent to Agent Referral is not a member of these services – thus enabling the company to save you the monthly fees. Our parent company, DK Atlanta & Associates, is a member company of both services. If you need to find information from the services, one of the DK Atlanta agents will run the reports you need for you.
Do I have to make referrals?
No, referrals are just a way for you to make some additional cash should you choose to – you do not have to make any referrals.
What if I want to work a referral myself?
Easy! Simply call the office and tell them you want to move your license over to our traditional company, DK Atlanta & Associates, or to any company of your choosing, so that you can work a transaction yourself. After the transaction is complete, you can then opt to move your license back to Agent to Agent Referral Realty for ‘parking’. You will not have to pay the annual fee again as long as it is within the same calendar year.
Am I an independent contractor?
Yes, you are an independent contractor and will receive a 1099 at the end of the year for any referral commissions that you receive. You will be asked to sign the Independent Contractor Agreement and complete an Office Information Form.
